All you need to know about modern-day kitchen designs

Kitchens in 2022 are strictly a necessity. And the trend for designating a separate room for the same is becoming obsolete. The life we lead today is busy. And the spatiotemporal room for pleasure is decreasing with each passing day. In this era of more hours in the office and more people per square foot, kitchens are gradually becoming a part of living spaces. And modern-day designs are poised to blend into this scene with absolute perfection.

This article will try to discuss these ingenious designs. Designs that are conceived with the need for efficiency in mind. And optimized for tight spaces, fit for the rapidity of life in this post-pandemic age.

Parallel kitchen design

A parallel kitchen design is a kitchen with at least two separate parallel workstations. These kitchens are extremely suited for long spaces with a lesser width. In a parallel kitchen, more than one oven or kitchen setup can be placed. And more than one cook can take part in the culinary venture. In addition to that, they are designed for extensive utilization of the walls for storage and freeing up floor space.

Island modular kitchen design

Island kitchens are the best form of kitchen that can be incorporated into a living space. These kitchens come with one or more independent components. These independent islands are equipped with adequate storage and placement features. An island-type kitchen is extremely versatile in terms of design and utility. Also, the best kitchen type for households with a scarcity of isolated bedrooms and a large drawing room.

G shaped kitchen

These kitchens are like U-shaped kitchens but with a peninsula or island region as a centerpiece. The main purpose of these designs is to be versatile and to space optimization. The island can be transformed into a dining or breakfast area. And the rest of the kitchen space can be dedicated to different equipment without being spatially dynamic. Thus, despite being almost like a U-shaped kitchen, G-shaped kitchens offer extreme versatility.

L shaped kitchen

L-shaped kitchens typically sit in a corner. The purpose is to allow the cook to access all of it from one position. Placing amenities like a sink, cupboards, and ovens is extremely easy in the case of an L-shaped kitchen. And the design is most suited for medium to large-sized rooms. These kitchens, being corner friendly, can be accommodated in a living room or a drawing room. And can even be embedded into adjacent walls like an in-line design. But with two separate components, joined together by a complementary utility.

U shaped kitchens

A kitchen arranged in a U shape is the most ideal choice for a large family with a variety of culinary needs. In a U-shaped kitchen, it is possible to place more than one cooking station. That too is bolstered with an abundance of storage and utility. Based on the availability of amenities and space, it is easy for a team of cooks to work and produce excellent food in minimum time with a U-shaped kitchen. Thus, an ideal choice for dining establishments and large families with a large designated room for a kitchen.
